Judy Chambers Beck

Brentwood based artist Judy Chambers Beck received her formal art training at Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, with further studies at UCLA and Parsons School of Design. She also is a volunteer AP art teacher at Santa Monica High School.

Beck's most recent permanent installation is in the new Biomedical Sciences Research Building on the UCLA Westwood campus. Her work has also been shown at galleries in California, New York, Key West, Honolulu and Tahiti, and is included in many private collections  throughout the United States and the South Pacific.

Beck’s love of travel, adventure and exotic locations has drawn her all over the world, with special focus on Bali, China, India, Thailand, Tahiti, and the South Pacific. Judy's paintings are inspired by the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke, Robert Frost, and Keats.

Beck paints in acrylic on canvas, and uses many layers of pumice stone gel, aquarelle pastels, and oil pastels to capture the elusive quality of natures’

paint box.
